70 YEARS: "THE ART OF UNDERTAKING"
Although it is very much alive today, interest in the art of the seventies, there are many artists and episodes of the cultural economy that still require a thorough historical-critical study. In particular, the artistic production that is particularly interesting for the explicit impairment artists and their research with the ideological context, cultural, social and political. There is no doubt, in fact, the emergence at that time a number of artistic works and actions designed to undermine the traditional boundaries of their introduction to the world of real life, compromising explicitly on the issues most relevant at that time, the political struggle to live debate on civil and social. The extension of the concept of artist, who is called in those years, "cultural worker", said the opening of art to the original concept of creativity aimed at the service of society. This book addresses, through specific and targeted sink, these aspects. Those years, so lively and meaningful, are well investigated with a specific critical cut, centered on the dialectic between art and social commitment, ethical and ideological, through a series of essays by scholars called upon to reconstruct the events and deal with those specific issues. Without being exhaustive, in an environment so rich in episodes of great interest, initiatives included in the volume investigate the close relationship that exists between art and real life by addressing emerging issues, which can not break free from a serious reflection on ' argument. Think of the work of artists directly or indirectly involved in political action and the new way of understanding the relationship with the social and public space as part of the research sculpture, architecture, design and planning and also to research based on anthropological and ecological content. The communication revolution of those years his art also involves the encroachment in new modes of expression involving photography, video and music as well as these issues are the subject of specific investigations. in reconstruction and historical-critical readings in the volume these issues emerge in their works and thoughts expressed by the protagonists, but also appear dialectically linked with the ideals, ideologies and even the doubts and contradictions of that vibrant social and cultural context. However, in the knowledge that - with Albert Camus - "Art can not be a monologue. Contrary to popular belief, if there is a man who has no right to solitude is the artist. "
